Eligibility
This race series is open to all junior age athletes age 16-19 living in the Pacific Northwest.  Series races are independently operated and entry is not guaranteed.  Race Directors have the right to limit the number of participants in their event.  It is in the athlete’s best interest to register in advance for ALL races in which they plan to participate. The series consists of the highest-quality events in the region and many of them sell out early.

Scoring
Points will be awarded at each event as outlined below.  Athlete’s top 5 scores will be tallied to determine an overall series winner.  Awards will be given for the top five overall male and female in each age category 16-19.  In the event of a tie between two or more athletes, each head-to-head match-up will be reviewed and the winner of the greater number of said match-ups will be recognized as the winner.  Ties will only be broken for the top five overall places in the series.  Overall series winners will be announced on this blog at the end of the series.

Point System
1 place = 100 points

Due to the challenging geographic location of the races we will also award additional 20 Points to any athlete who participates in a race outside the series.  RULE:  The race must be a Sprint Triathlon, in the Pacific Northwest and athletes must submit their results, name of the race, location, website URL and date of the race to goprojj1@me.com before August 1st 2011 and the end of the series.  The series director has the right to refuse a submission based on this rule.

Race Cancellations
In the event a series race is cancelled no points will be awarded for that race.  If a race is rescheduled on the same weekend (i.e. moved from Saturday to Sunday) points will be awarded.  If a race is changed from a triathlon to a duathlon (run/bike or run/bike/run) points will be awarded.  If a race is changed to a run only format points will not be awarded.  Cancellation and course changes are at the sole discretion of the event director.
